On Flash Back Friday, we will be looking back at our history, trips to Japan and some memorable koi that we have supplied.
Due to our relationships, knowledge and contacts in Japan, we can offer way more than just the standard stock fish, we can open up doors to some very special koi indeed. One such door was Sakai Fish Farm which, led us to this stunning Kohaku which we sourced as nisai for a UK dealer.
The video shows the Koi a year later in 2016 as sansai and she still resides at the farm today now close to 80cm.
As a dedicated wholesaler the main aim of our job is to work in the background supporting the retailers that we supply. Our reward comes from seeing their companies succeed and knowing that we helped achieve that success with the Koi that we supplied and knowledge that we shared.

Yesterday I was invited by Mitsuhiro Tanaka to go and harvest with him at Marushin Koi Farm.
This was our opportunity to get first pick of the Koi as soon as they were lifted from the water- this allowed us to pick the absolute best of the best.
Opportunities like this are what makes Koi Wholesale the business it is. We have spent years building these relationships and we continue to do so.
